We Provide a Classical Education

A Classical Education cultivates wisdom and virtue by nourishing the soul in truth, beauty, and goodness. This education has produced the greatest thinkers, leaders, and scientists in the Western world from the time of the Greeks until the late 19th century.

About our Academic Program

Liberal Arts

“Liberal” comes from the Latin word “libertas” meaning “freedom.” The American Association for the Advancement of Science describes a liberal arts education in this way: “…liberal education produces persons who are open-minded; conscious of their opinions and judgments; reflective of their actions; and aware of their place in the social and natural worlds.” In short, liberally educated people are trained to think for themselves.

Language Based

A classical education is more than just a pattern of learning: it is language-focused where learning is accomplished through written and spoken words versus images such as videos and television. In a language-focused learning, the mind needs to work harder and ‘decode’ symbols (words) into concepts. Images, on the other hand, allow the mind to be passive and enjoy the translation from words into concepts already completed. A classical education teaches people how to think rather than what to think.

Highest Standards

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” This quote from Aristotle encapsulates a classical education. Students will rise to the challenge when there is an expectation of high standards and excellence on a consistent basis.

Created for a very defined purpose

Classical schools are a great fit for parents who desire rigor and excellence in their child’s education. American Classical Charter Academy’s leaders and faculty members are equipped with the essential tools and skills to help their students achieve academic excellence.
